Cell Phones On Ebay

I've seen some phones sell pretty cheap on ebay. Do you think it's safe to buy one there or would I probably get ripped off? Would I be better off spending a little bit more and buying it from a provider instead?

Well I have sold my old phones on ebay without a problem. But I was honest in my description regarding the condition. I think it would be safe to buy off ebay, as long as you check the seller's feedback. I never buy from anyone under 98% feedback score. Also check out what any negatives are saying. Is it non paying bidders retalitory feedback or is it in regards to product/customer service. I think there are some definate good deals on ebay. Just do your research and make use of the Paypals Buyer Protection Plan. Hope that helps.

I'd be cautious when buying phones off ebay. Although millions of people trade on ebay every day, and lots of transactions take place - fraud still happens. Things like phones that are being sold as 'new' but aren't, sellers taking your money. If you do decide to go with ebay make sure the seller has a very strong history of positive feedback and use paypal so that if things go wrong you can get a refund.

Personally, I don't think it's worth the risk..

For the little money you save, there's a lot of things that could go wrong, that wouldn't be worth the pennies you manage to keep. I've actually seen some things where people are stupid enough to pay MORE for an item over ebay (sometimes not even new) than they could buy in the shops.

thats the nature of ebay, people get caught up in the bidding and want to win, and forget the cost. just the sheer feeling of the win. If you do decide to bid, follow the other posters advice about the sellers feedback, but make sure you have a price in mind that you want to pay and DONT go over that.

as with any ebay purchase the possibility exists of getting ripped off.. but i have actually sold cell phones on ebay, and purchased them. you can get a great deal, and its worth it if you do.
