Help with motorola please

I had my phone stolen a few days ago. I bought a new, unlocked phone from ebay, and I went to tmobile to have it activated. I purposely bought this one because it said it was 3G capable.

It only shows E at the top, not 3G. Is there a way to change this? I know I am in a place where 3G is available, because my family's hone shows it.

Im saddened to hear of your phone being stolen.

This happened to me last week as someone took a liking to my iPhone 4.

E is edge giving a slow connection.

Speak to your network to ensure 3g is activated.

When someone contacts their network to report a phone stolen they block the imei on the phone and the services on the sim card to ensure bills are not racked up by the thief.

Ask t mobile to send you their network settings via text message to activate if required too.
