Need help buying cheap t-mobile cell phone

So here's the thing..

I used to have a cheap 20 dollar Virgin Mobile pay as you go phone. I bought thta years ago, but with my lifestyle and lack of friends, I never really used it aside from calling my uncle to come pick me up after I was done with school.

I haven't done much since then though so the phone hasn't been used in years. Yeah, I'm a loser. Anyway, I've got a car now and need a phone in case of an emergency, for example if I get lost, stranded or my car breaks down.

The Virgin Mobile phone I had has been suspended, and I would reactivate it, but the battery is completely screwed up. It takes a long time to charge, and it completely loses its charge overnight. Even when it was new, the battery still didn't last long.

So I'm looking for a similar, but cheap T-Mobile phone. It has to be T-Mobile because my Virgin Mobile phone never gets any reception where I live. It is a very rural place so yeah, we don't even get high speed internet here. T-Mobile does get reception. I know because my family has a T-Mobile cell phone that we use as the house phone.

I don't want anything with a contract. Since I won't use it much, I don't want any monthly plan. I just want a topup setup like what I had with Virgin Mobile. I want to pay as I go, as they put it.

I don't know jack about cellphones so any help would be appreciated

A big problem I had with the virgin mobile setup though was that if I bought 200 minutes, and didn't use them for the month, they wouldn't roll-over to the next month. I hope T-Mobile has roll-over minutes for a pay as you go phone...
