What is your perception of Nokia smartphones?

Hi everyone! Iím working on a market research project at university and am trying to gain an insight into the perception of Nokia among smartphone users. I would really appreciate it if you could complete this short survey if you are currently living in the UK. It wonít take more than 5 minutes and the information you provide will be really useful for us. Thanks!

Plus, feel free to use this thread for general views on Smartphones. Which smartphone brand is your favourite? Do you think the likes of BlackBerry and Nokia have a future in smartphones?

I used Nokia phones for over 15 years because of their specs both aesthetic and on what's under their hood. Back then they were the market leaders because of two very good platforms s40 & s60.

Then they started trying out other platforms such as Maemo and meego.

I used the n900 for a while as this truly open operating system interested me. But in my opinion it should never have been on general release as people were upgrading to the n900 not knowing what pitfalls come with adding their own software from its three repository sections.

Then Nokia dropped both Maemo and meego and moved into their next big thing which was the unification with Microsoft leaving a lot if disgruntled loyal owners.

When this happened I moved to the Apple iPhone and have not looked back.
From the quality of workmanship , materials , stable iOS and second to none customer service I cannot fault Apple.

This market is awash with smartphones so the choice is very impressive which is good for the consumer.

Nokia was market leader once but it loosed its position in market because they were so bad with new models and launched 20-30 new models with same feature with little modification, now they are again acquiring position in smart phones industry but it will take time...
