Volume Problem I have a Motorolla V551, and even though the ringtone is set to "Loud", when my phone rings I can hardly hear it. I often miss calls because of this. Does someone know if there is some setting in the phone that needs to be played with in order to get it to ring louder? I am not sure what the problem is.

all you can do is to adjust the volume ( which i guess u have done ) ..if you still face problems then best way is to go to customer support center to set it up.

Is it a new phone Erin? If not has the volume always been low. Secondly, have you tired using another ringtone, to see if it's something to do with the ringtone, especially if the one that you are using was imported.

What I did is make my own ringtones on the computer and then transfer it to my phone. On a sound editing program (like Sony Acid), I made the volume 2X louder, and on my phone it was a little bit louder. Don't expect the sound quality to be perfect, however.

Lpxx has some good advice. if it is just a flaw in the phone, trying to create a louder ring might solve the problem for you. Else go with vibrate mode and have a party!

Thanks everyone for your replies. It is just a ring tone that came with the phone. I am going to change it or download something because all the ring tones are really bad and see if that solves the problem. It is a newer phone. I have only had it for a couple of months but didnt always have the volume problem. If the ringtone doesnt solve it then I will probably call customer support to see what the deal is.

I've had this exact same problem with an old phone of mine. i can't remember the model but I believe it was a nokia of some kind. I didn't manage to sort it out and ended up getting a new phone. good luck with yours.

Hmmm. My ringtones definitely vary some in volume, and the ones that I've downloaded--unfortunately, the ones I like best!--are lower than the pre-loaded ones. I, too, find that I miss calls, which is very frustrating. Sometimes, I'll put it on the tone/vibration combination, and that tends to do a better job of getting my attention!

Alright so I changed the ringtune on my phone and the volume is fine now. It must have just been that ringtune, although originally when I first selected it on my phone there wasnt a problem. At least now I will be able to hear the phone ring. Thanks for the help.
