Sharp GX25 speaker problem

Hello,
I have a Sharp GX25 which seems to work fine until someone phones. They can hear what I am saying, but I can't hear what they are saying. If I play a ringtone the speaker on the outside of the phone body works perfectly. Please can somebody tell me what's going wrong?
