Java app for feature phones to improve typing?

I have a new Huawei U5510. It has some amazing features and advantages on it (for its price) but the typing system is atrocious - predictive text is slow and it often simply doesn't know basic English words (such as "browser", "coming", etc.) which I then have to add manually.

For feature phones, is there any Java application that might exist that can improve the typing experience / replace the native one? Or is that asking too much?
