Help! Too much of a good thing leaves one wanting less

Greetings, my ageing Dad bought a Samsung Galaxy 3 last year and has struggled (and failed) to get his head around this smart phone technology. It's taken a while for him to concede defeat and be talked around to returning to more basic phone tech. We (his children) reckon he'd be better off returning to Nokia - which he'd had for years previously - as he's at least familiar with this layout. All he requires is phone/email capability. We're looking at getting him a Nokia 300 Graphite Outright phone. Any thoughts, recommendations most welcome. Thanks!
