Loose Battery

I have an LG flip phone. Recently it started cutting out whenever I put in my bag or in my pocket. I couldn't figure it out. Last night my husband looked at it, removed the battery and put it back in. In doing so we noticed the battery is a little loose. It seems to rattle a little bit, and my DH thinks it's probably cutting off because the power flow from the battery is stopping, then starting, etc. Anyone know if this will be covered under a standard Verizon warranty? (phone is a year old) Or will I have to buy a whole new battery or phone?

It really should be covered unless there's been obvious signs of misuse. I don't know about that exact contract but most of the time that's the case. Fingers crossed for you that it is!

In my experience, Verizon is very good about warranty repairs. They replaced my phone, no questions asked, when I was having a fairly minor problem, and even transferred my entire address book, etc., to the new one. I don't recall how long the warranty was, though, so if it's going on a year for you, you'd better check right away! I did have a Cingular phone with that loose battery problem, and do you know what they did? They cut a business card to fit and stuck it in under the battery (avoiding any contacts, of course)! I'm not kidding! Strangely enough, it did stop the battery rattle and intermittent disconnections....

You can also place a folded piece of paper or part of a card in it. That should hold it in place. I haven't had a problem like that myself but a friend has, and it works just fine now.
