Cell phone guns -not just for James Bond Cell phone guns aren't just for James Bond 007 In his next week issue, Time magazine reports that travel security agents are taking a closer look at cell phones that conceal a gun. Some of these cell phones, made in Croatia, "are fired by punching keypad buttons and can shoot four .22-cal. bullets in rapid succession." The gadget, apparently a favorite in the drug traffic industry, isn't that new however, they also existed in September 2001 and, as experts were looking for clues on how the terrorists made it, cell phone guns were briefly considered as one possible explanation. http://cellphones.about.com/b/a/060481.htm This will not be a problem until the general public gets a hold of it...I can see the headlines now: "Unfaithful boyfriend shot to death by jealous girl with cell phone gun"

I'm curious what sort of laws will be regarding this if it ever gets out to the public. Will you be required to have a gun liscense? What about airport security? What about security in general? This gun / phone will NEVER get to the public's hands. The only thing you may have to worry about though is the black market and such. I hope it never gets to that point.

I'm really amazed at the idea of combining a cell phone with a gun lol It looks cool for James Bond movies that's for sure but in reality it looks kind of riddiculous to me, only 007 fanatics and people with perverted intentions (perverted in the sense that a phone and a gun's utility is supposedly absolutely not the same) would actually want that gadget... Guns are not allowed to public "personnal use" everywhere anyway... so, someone travelling with that might have a bit of a problem in my country -France- for example.

Come on now you guys, you are not thinking out side the box. Just think of the "Terrorist Market" out there (1st Terrorist) Hey what are you packing? (2nd Terrorist) I am carrying the latest Nokia phone-gun. (1st Terrorist) Nokia? (2nd Terrorist) that's right...just came out last week. (1st Terrorist) ***Sadly looks down at his gun in one hand and his cell phone on the other*** Where can I get one? |

Wow, that really is incredible. I never even imagined something of this kind could exist! It must be an incredibly rare combination of numbers to make it go off, you wouldn't want to shoot somebody because your phone number had an unfortunate sequence of numbers.

I think it's hilarious that I just mentioned a cellphone-gun in the cell phone product placement thread before I even saw this one. GMTA anyone?

hehe, I'm not stupid, that's exactly what I meant when I wrote 'perverted' use of a cell phone ... unfortunately ^^ But just get out of another meter from that box of yours and open your eyes : other than terorrits I see potential for other things with that which would fit in my 'pevreted use of cell phone' cathegory... its just amazing how fear can lead some people to get ingenious about their self defense....which often is the cause of dramatic events because some get desperate.... "12 students killed in a school today, a young man gone mad killed them all and his teacher with his new nokia cell phone gun [...]" that's just sick. |

Let's hope that never gets into the public's hands. With that, you would never be able to know if someone has a gun on them or not.

Lol thats one of the stupidist (is that a word) ideas that i've ever heard. Why not give him a cellphone implant in his ear? and then a normal gun?

lol whats the point of that? Seems like an unecessary combination. What happens when he needs to answer his phone at a formal dinner?
