Best phone?

Need a little help here. Bascially, I need a new phone. Im stumped at what I should choose.
My last phone was a Sagem my150x which I had for exactly 2 days after which it CRACKED APART (literally shattered into pieces! one chunk of which decided to stick into my leg) in my pocket whilst getting firewood. One before THAT was a w800i, which I quike liked, but its kinda chunky and kept getting dust in the screen and joystick ALWAYS failing, making it unusable.

As you might suspect, I am quite an active person and like to have my phone at work (building sites), at home and at play (I take it to gigs and would like it to survive stage diving antics or being tossed aside on stage).
So, I either need a very solid, cheap, small, basic phone and then I can get other gadgets to do music, torch, cam etc.
OR
I want a gadget phone. I dont use things like 3g, internet & email. But camera (w flash), music, removable memory are nice but size and durability are extremely important.

Im quite handy at repairing, modding etc. so suggestions like "this phone is AMAZING once you change the case / flash OS" or "great phone, bit flimsy for you but CHEAP parts".
Price is a factor, but if its worth the money, I dont mind spending it.
ALL suggestions will be much aprreciated.

Thank you!

Those are some beefy handsets indeed!

I was recommended to check out the Sony Ericsson C series. I think I might well wait until I can get a c902 (I know, bit pricey, flashy etc) and just take care of it. A hardcase / belt clip chould keep it out of harms way.

Bad idea?

I'd get the JCB if you're a labourer mate! Built specifically with that purpose! Then again I duno much about the technical side... they might just sell on the name so look into it a bit

I like JCB too . Nokia 5500 is not bad too . It's not as expensive as JCB and i saw crash test of this phone and it's quite hard to break)))
