Nokia N73 - Software Update Failed - Phone Dead

Hi, I was using the Nokia Software Update tool to upgrade to the latest firmware. I have done this before with no problems. Anyway, I started it running last night and it said it would take 15 mins. I left it running and came back about 3 hours later and it was still showing 15 minutes left and no progress had been made. The phone looked dead and nothing was happening. I tried switiching the phone on but again nothing happened. It seemed at the time that I had no option but to terminate the update by removing the USB cable. Anyway, I did that and my phone is now dead. It wont switch on even though it is fully charged.

I have seen various articles on the web about having to send it to a Nokia repair centre but I am wondering if anybody knows another way to fix this? It's a couple of years old, out of warranty and I dont want to spend any money on it if I can help it.

Thanks.

Basically you have bricked the handset with the software update failing.

If it wont allow you to initiate a new update you would have to take it to your nearest NSC which can be found on Nokia - Nokia on the Web

They will be able to let you know the cost which i wouldnt think it too high.
