New Phone A Few Questions.

Hi all, basically my wife just brought a new n95 8gb phone on pay as you go even after me telling her it would be better to go contract but anyway she never listened and got it for near 400 pounds. she's always losing things in town like her purse ect so i would like to know if she did lose it is there some kind of tracker to find the phone if its lost or stolen because if someone did find it the chances of them handing it in are minimal. i think you can track phone using the number but presumeably they would take it out or use there own. can u fit a tracker to the actual phone and where i can i get more info on getting it done?, cheers.

You can supply the imei number from the fone to the police and or network who will imobilise it.

Then it would become useless to the finder.

The only person who can unlock it is the network and a few shady characters who have the software to erase the imei number and graft a false one onto it which carries a 5 year jail term if caught.

A tracker system would be good and in esssence the network could triangulate the sygnal although this service is very much for the future.
A bit like the system on a car !

Make sure your wife either has insurance on the fone or that your household insurance covers such a loss , as im afraid your right that many would not hand in such a premuim handset.
