| Ok, I got a contract with 3 about 3 or 4 months ago and they gave me a N95. I have been with 3 for quite a long time but with this phone i have had many problems. My phone is not actually working and i have taken the phone apart alittle so my warranty is gone, it had expired anyway. Erm, ok so what happened is the screen suddenly went, like there was a big crack (not on the outer screen). The crack was actually in the LCD. So i am awaiting to receive that tomorrow. I went to take it to a phone place though in Brixton. They looked a bit crooked like market style phone shop but i thought lets see what they say. They said its the LCD screen so i payed them £30 to repair it. Now before they repaired it the screen was damaged but i can turn it on and using my memory i remembered how to navigate to the Music Player and i played music so it was working it was just the screen. But when they put the new screen in and started it up, it just went to the nokia screen, hadn't even got to the hands together part and it went off. So they said £8 more to pay cos its a software problem so i thought alright then. 5-10 minutes later they said its "unrepairable". I was completely p**sed off tbh cos i was thinking well it was working so what the hell has happened now?! I tried unscrewing it myself with the Torx T6 and unfortunately the screws rounded off. I had no choice to go to the market so the guy can take the screws out and rip the front frame off (dont worry nothing was damaged it's just the front frame was removed... yano the one with the mic on it). So i bought a new black front frame for a fiver and ordered some screws. I've got the screws and the frame is on but obviously im waiting for the screen and i need to get a decent T6. I've got it on charge right now and it lit up after about 10 seconds when i put the charger in but the light doesn't go off, cos i can see it through the crack. Without the charger when i try turning it on i see no light so im getting a little worried that im wasting my money. Any professional advice? Will go down to the Nokia Care Centre in central london once i have repaired the phone and if it still doesn't work i'll see what they say. Thanks guys, write back xxx |

| You say the n95 was part of the contract with 3 and are only 3-4 months into the contract, but the warranty is out. Nokia provide a limited 2 year warranty so the fone would have been under gurantee unless the crack was caused by you. I assume when they opened the fone to replace the damaged screen they have caused further damage to the mother board or ribbon. I agree that you are throwing money away trying to chase a repair on your handset. I would suggest you treat yourself to a new handset. Outlets such as c.e.x provide used fones, the n95 being on of them for reasonable prices, which reflect the condition they are in. Their website is ; www.cex.com Good luck.

| Nokia apply the warranty not 3 so it does not matter what contract your on. Souds like you have been spun a yarn for some reason ! I have both sold and purchased items from CEX and in my experiance can recommend them. Phones have a 12 month warranty applied by CEX for peace of mind. I hope a software/firmware update will cure your fone issues. Dont be charged for these updates as software updates are available on the Nokia site in which you would find links to their updater which are free. Nokia - Nokia on the Web
