Well sometimes it just slips out of your hand, especially if you're doing something else or not paying much attention. I know once I dropped mine in the toilet by accident: I was at the counter, dropped it, and it slid a little ways to the edge of the counter and dropped right into the toilet!

Thanks for the update and the information. I have never dropped my phone in water pool but one thing that bugs me is that sometimes there is some fog on my screen which goes if i get into sun. I don't know why?

my old ericsson 337 would go "swimming" about once a month. When ever i was out drinking it would somehow end up in a drink or the bucket with the ice water or in a pond or in a pool(when i got pushed in). i would have to say it got fully wet about 7 times, and ended up lasting me 2 years. the on ly reason i got rid of it, was of it so out dated feature wise, and the battery would only last 8 hours

I think the worst that has happened to my phone is my baby chewing on it all the time. Better the phone than my arm, I suppose, and the phone seems to stand up to his teething pretty well.

I acidentally dropped my phone in the washing machine once (in a trouser pocket) and found the phone back after putting the washing in the dryer. Needless to say it didnt work properly anymore but the screen did show some pretty rainbow colours.

I dropped my cell in the water and nothing really happened other than there is a buzz now when I use the loud speaker.

Claiming on the insurance was always the bast thing to do but now phone manufacturers have fitted a small pad in which when exposed to water make a small line of ink on that pad run and shows that it has cleary been exposed to water, clever idea I suppose!

My brother-in-law's was dropped in the bath by my niece.

It's unfortunate that he didn't have these tips because the phone wasn't covered by insurance.

Hi all

Havent had a chance to try these tips. I have a Samsung x660. i went boating on tuesday and pushing the boat out. Wave came up and splasged a little salt water on my phone, but at the dsame time a friend rang. The phone just vibrated constantly and then shut itself off. No screen no nothing, I'm wondering if it is the battery. As the phone is uninsured, and im almost certain this issnt covered by warranty, should i just give your tips a crack and if it dont work buy a new one?

Cheers

Sloth
