You need the code to unlock to all networks.

1, Get the code from Vodafone but be ready to pay an admin fee of £15-£30'ish. You would have to had completed the contract or 3 months have elapsed on a payg contract.

2, Take the handset to a market trader who can unlock for £5-£10. Sometimes these enforced codes can cause issues such as signal loss.

3, Do not fall for auction sites, websites selling codes, software and data cables offering unlock codes for a fee.

Also be aware that when vodafone purchase the handset from nokia they tend to impose their own software. This can sometimes cause compatability issues.

You may need the wap/grps/mms settings for virgin. These can be sent to you by text message, which you can do yourself by logging onto their website.

Visit Virgin Mobile around the world

Good luck.

They have software disks used with data cables to force the fone open. Probably sourced from the industry thro shady dealing.

Personally I purchase all my handsets from The Carfone Warehouse as both contract & Payg handsets are unlocked to ALL networks, as they just 'marry' up the chosen sim to network. Or buy sim free !

You will find scores of sites offering unlock solutions. Part with your cash at your own peril for their offered services.

Software unlocking is risky, unlocking a mobile phone using unlock code is the best way.

Above All, Vodafone would provide free unlock codes itself. Why should you go on for a software unlock.
