Tips for talknig on the phone while driving

If you must use the cell phone while driving, highway safety experts recommend that you:

• Get to know your phone and its features so you know where the buttons are.
• Use a hands-free headset.
• Keep your phone within easy reach so you don't have to reach or bend over to answer it.
• Don't take or place calls during heavy traffic or severe weather.
• Don't take notes or look up phone numbers.
• If possible, place calls when you are stopped, or when you're not merging.
• Don't have stressful or emotional conversations while you're driving.

There you go boys and girls...no stop weaving on the road in front of me! I got places to go and people to see...

I was driving with a friend the other day and when she tried to type numbers into her phone, she swerved, almost into the other lane! We were on a highway, it could have been a disaster. These tips definitely need to be looked at.

If you have to talk while driving, the cell phones these days have so many features. Voice activation for one. I can leave my phone open and have it automatically answer after so many rings, that way I don't have to pick it up. As for dialing out, alls you have to do is say the person you want to call and it will call them.

Yeah my friends are incapable of keeping control of there cars and using there phones at the sametime, I just avoid it or pull over

It really does annoy me when I see some one with the phone perched under their ear while trying to fiddle with the radio and eat a mars bar at the same time. If the phone call is that important, pull over to the side of the road or like chattycathy said, invest in a phone that doesn't need to be touched to use.

It's not just your life on the line but the poor sod you crash into as well.

Get a wireless headset, and please keep your eyes on the road.... no dialing. Also if you need to tell someone to hold on, Do it, i'd rather not see you slamm into my car while talking.

Im really against this but if you have to talk on the phone, keep your eyes on the road, don't get too distracted, and keep safe please.

If you have an important message that you are expecting, then you can turn on your cellphone. Otherwise, turn it off so that you won't get distracted. If you need to answer the phone, better pull over so that you be safe while having a conversation in the phone.
