Unlocked Blackberry with 3?

Pretty much as the title says: I have an unlocked Blackberry Pearl from the RIM PR and a 3 sim card. I've set up my email on the blackberry emea website but it's not arriving on the Blackberry, which I assume is to do with 3. Can they be made to work together?

Have you spoken to your network provider to enable your account with a data package.

They can also send the settings over the air.

hi lee, thanks for coming back to me. It's already data-enabled, I've used it with data on loads of other handsets. And 3 customer service is *hopeless* - if they don't supply the handset, they simply can't or won't give you any help at all. It's not in the support flow-charts used in the call centre

I agree 3 Customer services seem to be not very pro active in assisting.

3 are guilty of garden walling their services.

Seems a shame when you just want to use their services and earn them money !

Indeed. Well, it looks as though it's a non-starter. I asked the spivvy but clever and often helpful boys in my local Fones4U and they say it'll work with any operator but 3.

Anyone got any recommendations for a sim-only deal with decent data?
