Yes it could be the charger thats gone faulty or the battery is shot. Make sure all the ports are clean and free of dust as this can affect charging. You may need a firmware update as the power management of the fone may be out of sync. This update can be actioned by most cellfone shops nowadays. If the mother board is fried then it could be more expensive than actually getting another handset ! Good luck.
