Xda Ignito - should I buy it?
I had set my heart on the HTC Touch Diamond or Samsung Omnia i900 - both of which O2 do not have in stock & can't say when they do.
I requested my PAC from O2 and surprise surprise I received a call today from O2 offering me the Xda Ignito. The guy from O2 says it's the same as the Diamond, just rebranded. I really want to stay with O2 and they have offered me a good deal. My question is, should I buy or should I go? Also, will I be able to use the same accessories as the Diamond with the O2 Xda Ignito? Any advice would be great. I really want a phone with Windows Mobile and GPS on it and it would be a nice upgrade from my old Song Ericsson K700i. |

To the best of my knowledge the Ignito is exactly the same as the Diamond, with the same functionality. The only difference is the UI is in the O2 corporate blue.
Have you researched the Diamond? I avoided it when looking for a large screen mobile, because of the expert reviews, particularly on CNet.co.uk. The Omnia would appear to be the better choice, but obviously I don't know all your criteria for choosing a phone. If you're happy to get a decent airtime / retention deal with O2, and get the Ignito then go for it Also, if your contact is with an O2 store then you can upgrade through Carphone Warehouse, who have different stock and deals. I got my Tocco much cheaper that way. SV |

Well I did so research - they are the same, except the XDA has no youtube or sat nav apps. Not a problem though.
O2 gave me a great deal - free handset, 600 mins X network minutes, 1000 texts and unlimited WAP for £20 a month. Bonus! |
