Samsung U908 Soul - searching through phonebook - help!

Hello,

I have Samsung U908 Soul, so the question is about this model, however maybe it happens to other Samsung phones.

There is one thing, which really annoys me and I haven't been able to find a good solution yet. When I choose "Contacts" from the main menu a Phonebook screen appears with a little search box (pretty standard feature of all phones). In theory, the search box should allow me to navigate to a contact I'm looking for. Wrong! In my phone, whenever I start typing a few letters of first name / last name (doesn't matter) it would scroll the list to a contact that has nothing to do with the letters I've started typing... - or I just wasn't able to find out any relationship yet ;-) Therefore, in order to navigate to a desired contact I always need to scroll my contact list using up and down arrow keys, which is very annoying and takes a lot of time as my contact list is pretty long.

I have tried to find some settings in the phone menu to change it, but I was unsuccessful. Any suggestions are welcome!
