Question LG Cookie

I know I have only just upgraded to the Samsung G600, although i feel like a HUGE Change.

i was browsing through The Carphone Warehouse when I saw a touch screen phone. It had very good specification and looked nice. When I saw the price tag of £99, I was amazed!

Does anyone know if this phone, the LG Cookie, is any good ? thanks

Hi,

LG KP 500 'cookie'

This handset is an affordable touchscreen device and holds some good specs, although the camera is only 3 mp and does not support high speed internet. Not a massive issue in my opinion !

That said it has a fully working touch screen with the much acclaimed iphone/itouch accelerometer, you can even shake and flip the handset to control certain functions, and is light and compact.

Carfone Warehouse will supply this at £99.95 but you will need to add £10 if paying by card or £20 if buying by cash which they claim is to battle against box breakers !

Initial reviews by users is positive.

Carefone warehouse normally have a working demo model in the bigger outlets so ask to play before you part with your cash.

If you do purchase it possibly you could post your own personal review.

Cool

Thanks, the 5MP camera on the G600 isn't all that wonderful.

i was going to purchase an iPod touch, but after seeing the accelerometer feature it seems pointless seen as I would like to get a new phone. I should have this phone within a month and will post a review on it.

Thanks again, dlbot.

I purchased the ipod touch when it was released in the Uk as I was ready to upgrade from the nano and this caught my eye.

Its a fantastic bit of kit and I still find it quirky to be able to sit in somewhere like McDonalds, and surf the full internet on it, and all for free !

As for camera quality just look at the new 8mp which is now available !
Although this function in a handset is not a must spec for me. The 3.2 on my arte is sufficient for taking a pic and sending it to a friend.

I look forward to reading your review when your new gadget turns up.

LG KP500 cookie

Hi all,

I was just wondering if the KP500 'cookie' from LG is worth buying.

Its price is 199 euro here in Belgium.
LG  Cookie (KP500) - Phone House is the vendors site.

Any suggestions ?

Greetz,

Joris

Talking

I am also getting this phone.
From what I have seen from reviews, it seems a feature packed phone for the low price.

For good reviews type in 'lg cookie review' on Youtube. There are plenty on there to help you make a decision

Hello, okay my only slightly negative point to it so far is that the buffering/catch up rate on the texting can get rather slow at times. If im playing music or texting rather fast it seems to lag behind on actually entering the letters im pressing.

It doesnt bother me to much but im a really patient person with things like that. The music player is great, can get some nice volume from the built in speakers. The rest of the phone is rather responsive and quick to the commands its just the texting that can get a little slow.

Two desktops, one for general quick links to arrange on the screen if you like for alarm, music, notes, calendar etc and on the second one you can arrange up to 8 speed dial contacts if you like for texting or calling. You can lock the screen to prevent accidentally moving the tabs or you can shake the phone a little when the edit bar is out to auto-arrange the blocks neatly.

Can't edit themes on the phone just the background image really which for me is enough as the theme is is a rather nice black and reddyish type colour that goes well together. You can change the main menu from side tabs to a scrolling thing at the side which is nice to just scroll through the sections rather than selecting a tab.

The font is nicely sized and can be changed im pretty sure in texting and such. Battery life isn't too bad i'd say about average to good on it depending on how often you run music and videos. Profiles are easy to find and edit around as you like, theres a gallery to look through your photos and videos easily and open them up. The camera is rather good for 3mp, no flash like the iphone but still a rather nice camera for what it is.

It also had a fun little drawing panel application for abit of a doodle or time killer, you can even use it on photos you've taken to edit them as you want with some funny drawings or such.

Thats all i can really think of for the phone in general as a quick overthought, not really had a detailed look at it yet. I've pretty much always got a signal on it too, dunno if thats because im on O2 or just the phone itself, its clear when talking to people aswell which is always a plus point.

Hope this helps you make your choice for a phone!

Looks like except the little text bug, it's a very usefull (smart)phone

one weeks ago. it's good, better than Nokia 5800 XpressMusic. But, the camera works very bad at night. It's dont have image stabilizer. But it's very good at the music. The sound is better than sony ericsson walkman. And the games good too. ^^
