How necessary is isurance? Is it worth paying an extra £7 a month for it? I'm usually quite careful with my phone, but I'm getting a new expensive phone and don't want it to break accidently. Any advice?
Insurance is a mixed bag of opinions to say the least ?
You sometimes can find stand alone insurance companies for cellfones give a better deal and premium costs.
Some insurance policies do not cover for water damage and only supply a reconditioned handset if your claim is upheld. Some charge an admin fee for replacing a handset, and some charge an excess fee.
Some household insurance companies offer cover and replace the handset with a brand new one, although normally an excess fee still applies.
Some cellfone shops offer a 3 month introductory offer so you dont pay for 3 months and then the premium kicks in. The user normally has to cancel the policy if they dont want it to carry on and start paying the premuim.
Some people will stand by peace of mind by having insurance and others will say its a waste of money for many different reasons.
Go by your gut feeling.
Personally I have mine covered by my house insurance, which has come into play a few times after having my handset stolen.
