I dont know if this is the right place in the forum, so sorry if ive made a mistake
I just got my cell phone (sony ericsson w850i) repaired, and when I try to put in the memory card (memory stick por duo 1GB) it says that it needs to be formatted and that all info will be lost. i dont care about the info so i click yes to format. it asks for my phone lock code and i have no idea what it is. can anyone help please?

Speak to the shop where the fone was repaired to ask if they carried out a firmware/software update as all this takes the fone back to factory conditions.

Look in your manual if so for the security code it states as the original code is 0000. Did you ever change the security code manually ? If so try that code too.

12345 is usually for Nokia handsets.

If this fails then ask the shop to reflash the handset to see if this cures the issue.

Formatting your sd card allows it to fully operate with your fones operating system ,which as you already know is accessed thro the security menu of the handset.

Good luck.

Dont worry about where you posted this issue its fine.
