Samsung sgh i 550 w

I purchased Samsung sgh i550w 20 days back. I was quite satisfied with it . For last 3 days the phone display screen is showing searching. I am not quite sure whether the phone is searching for Wireless network or GPRS sattelite. I am not able to receive any call neither am I able to make any phone call , unless I reboot the phone. Then again , after 2- 3 minutes its again back to the searching mode. Can any one help me solve this problem.

Your mobile is searching for your network hence why you cannot make calls.

Look in the settings, phone and then operator to see what it is set to.
Options such as manual and automatic should be available to choose. It may be on auto hence why its searching , so try manual to see if your network is present.

Try another sim of the same network to see if your present sim card is at fault.

If not then your fone may need a firmware update which most cellfone shops can do for you. In the Uk certain shops such as Carfone Warehouses can do this for you free of charge under the guarantee. This type of update will also wipe any downloaded data such as pics and tones to try to make a back up first.

Good luck.

Thanks your reply

Thanks for your reply. Actualy when I turn off my phone & when I restart it I do get proper signals from my subscribed network which is vodafone. But after a couple of minutes even though the phone receives proper signal from the network , but is neither able to receive any phone call nor able to dial any number., because the phone is in a searching mode. I do not think the phone is searching for the network . It is either GPRS or WAN.
