Which phone?

Have decided to splash some of my cash on a new phone. I have shortlisted it down to just 2 phones, the LG KC910 and the Samsung Pixon.
What one, in your opinion, looks better, has better features etc. Also you could recommend a phone. Mainly looking for an 8 mp camera and touch screen. (Dont want SE C908)
I am going to New York in February and want to get either of these phones over there. I have had a few unlocked phones in the past as I live in Ireland and I buy most of my phones from eBay. I was wondering if I bought a phone over in New York, unlocked and brought it back to Ireland, would it work?
And would the internet or GPS work?
Thanks alot

As long as the fone is quad band you should be Ok.

Both fones are good in their own rights.

Its down to lifestyle, asthetics and what specs attract you as an individual.

Good luck on your eventual choice.

Thanks for the reply Lee but I still don't know if either of the 2 phones will work here. I would like someone to confirm that the work here in Ireland!

Features of the LG Renoir KC910 include:
  • Triband (GSM 900/1800/1900) plus 3G HSDPA
  • Features of the Samsung Pixon include:
  • Quadband (850/900/1800/1900 MHz) plus 3G (UMTS 2.1GHz)
They both will work in Ireland.

Dual band phones tend to work in the UK and Europe and most of the world (GSM 1800 and GSM 900), whilst in America you need a phone that can take GSM 1900 so most often a Tri band or Quad band phone is the best option

You can ask your new network to send you over the air settings via text message ,which you accept and save/activate.

Sometimes the internet home page of the network allows you to send the settings yourself.

Also you could manually input the settings yourself which can be found by googling.

Try downloading opera mini for gprs usage.

This will activate the wap/gprs and mss functions to fully access the wap internet.

If your wanting the full internet , and your fone allows this, not wap, then you need a data package as the charges are expensive.

Again the network can send you these settings and activate the account.

Contact the network your going to use ie 02, t-mobile , vodafone etc, for a text message to be sent to your fone, which will send you the settings you want so you can connect up.
