ericsson no 3.5 mm plugs! when?

The new w902 was the perfect upgrade to my old w810i BEFORE i realized there is something VERY WRONG with it:

1. NO 3.5 mm PLUG!

2. the huge retarded SE plug is. . take a deep breath. . ON THE SIDE!
What's wrong with sony's designers? Are they on drugs? Thats effectively 1.5 cm extra to the width of the phone.

3. the headphone cable is facing the wrong direction when plugged on the retarded SE plug - thats downwards assuming you put your phone in your pocket headfirst (which is how it is meant to be and how the walkman buttons on the other side are meant to be used)

I was going to get this phone if at least it had the retarded SE plug on the bottom as in my old w810i.
Now I am forced to buy another w810i and to be stuck with its low end camera for who knows how long.

THE FACTS: the new walkmans are worse in terms of convenience and size than a 3 year old walkman phone with the same size and weigth. And that is having in mind that the w810i is twice as thick - and still it is more handy and comfortable (when used for music).

What do you guys think about this? Agree?

Everyone who agrees with this, please say it here and lets make pages and pages worth of our dissapointment.

Its obviously a huge disappointment when one finds a fone that ticks most of your boxes, and then something like this sours the excitement of a new gadget.

Have you tried looking on their home website page for a contact us link to express your views, and your opinion on how the handset or at least their next released model could be adapted to better suite its purpose.

3.5mm headset jack certainly would have been a better choice !

All taken into account tho this fone does hold a wealth of onboard specs.

Whars the point if only I compain? They are not going to do something for only one custommer. I was hoping that lots of people think that the handy factor is truly important.
Having everything in one little compact device is really what I want. And if this phone only had a jack plug - it would have done it. It would have been the best phone ever to do it. Because - lets face it - nokias phones have it but they are either a large heavy brick or they have no dedicated buttons, or they are sliders etc etc. Besides they have it on top which is quite fucked.

Motorolla Z5n has it on the side which is even worse if your headphone jack is not a 90 degrees angled.
None of them have the flashlight which sony has.

This phone could have got it all, but because of this MAJOR inconvenience (the port on the side) it is just as good as the rest of them.

The thing is that it shouldn't be that hard to do it. It COULD have been like this. There is nothing to it. But it's not cause someone overlooked it or someone restricted it (so that it doesnt destroy all the competition) or something else.

PS: OH, the little J123 has it right where it should be - a 3.5 mm hack on the bottom. I would have bought this if it had a camera despite it may have inferior sound quality. But - no camera!
I think there is a big conspiracy here

Manufacturers want their handsets to stand out and attract customers to purchase their handsets. They are a business and need to make profit by selling their merchandise.

You dont have to come across as "complaining" but as giving posative feedback. How else would they get a feel of the pulse of their core customers. This is how they improve and keep their stakes in the market place.

Nokia for example have ' test pilots' { Nokia Forum Members who are the general public}, who have a handset for a month or so to test the handset out, and then provide feedback on the pro's and con's.

If we all thought whats the point, they wont listen, then not much would improve...lol.

Putting your opinion on these forums is good and opens the eyes of potential purchasers of this handset. Lets hope you get a strong response.

I for one am in your corner !
