Samsung Z400 - Memory card

So I use a memory card, but if I put .jar or .jad files onto the memory card it doesn't recognise them as games or anything, the only method that seems to work is uploading them to a WAP site, then from there downloading them and my phone seems to "install" them if they're downloaded.

But if I've no credit or don't want to waste credit on WAP this is a pain in the ass.

Anybody got any suggestions?

Java Archive (JAR) files are compressed files into which you can store many files. If you place the many classes that your application, or applet need in a JAR file, you reduce the size of your distributabels.

"jar" files are the real game files. "jad" files are including some information about installation path, file size, vendor name, version etc.
You need both of them to install the game to your phone. Sometimes you will need to edit jad files to fix the installation path (for local disk

To Download the games to your memory stick.
First you have to download your jar file through your USB cable to your fone "other" file inside "my items" and after install from there.

All your games are now install in your memory stick. But becareful if you delete the jar files from other the games won't work.

or
Once you have downloaded these games to your computer (remember to put them in a specified folder), use the CD which you have with your phone and install the PC Suite which comes with your cell phone. If you dont have CD, then try their website and download the suite. It enables you to easily transfer the game files.

When the jad/jar file asks you on the phone where do you want to install it, click “memory card”; it will be saved on your memory card instead of taking place in phone memory.

Hi there, I'm not sure you understand my problem, I use a micro SD memory card, and I put it into my memory card reader, from there I copy the jar file into my "Others" folder, I then put the memory card back into the phone and go to the file, it just says the file type is unsupported and doesn't do anything but sit there.

Have you tried the method outlined above and do not involve the reader, instead just directly downloading the game to the memory card.

If you can, reformat the memory card , although be sure to do a back up as this process can lose already downloaded data to the card.

The reformat command is normally found within the security section of the handset.

Unfortunatly not all fones, memory cards can read certain jar files also. Compatability issues arise for some games to some fones. Check out the sites these games come from as they normally show which fones are and are not compatable

I tried putting the files over the phone studio and it still doesn't install, it just moves useless files.
