Unhappy Problem with wallpaper adjustments! Samsung G600...Help!!

Hi!

Guess this is my first post here so hi to everyone. I just got my G600 2 days back. The one problem that I've been having is that when I try to set an image (downloaded or otherwise) that's in a high resolution like 1024x768 of even 800x600, the G600 applies to wallpaper in a very weird way.

It doesn't adjust the wallpaper to its screen resolution and crops many parts of the picture. Earlier I had the X820 in which I could even select the exact part of a image as wallpaper by zooming in until required. All phones which I've had till now (c100, D500, X820) automatically adjusted images of all resolutions automatically when used as wallpapers but that doesn't seem to be the case with G600.

Does it mean that everytime I want a new image as wallpaper, i would have to resize it to 320x240 so that it fits perfectly on the G600 screen. Or is there something that I don't know or am doing wrong??

Please let me know how can I resolve this, it's really stupid clicking/downloading pictures and not being able to set them as wallpapers correctly.

Hi and Welcome to the forums.

In respect to your issue.....

You kinda answered it yourself !

The handset will size the chosen wallpaper to fit the screen.

Overriding this for a higher resolution will lead to cropping of the picture.

Nice fone by the way.

Take care.

Hi Lee!

Thanks for the compliment. But you kinda missed the point. That is the main problem. The fone doesn't size the wallpaper to fit the screen. Usually, fones resize the wallpaper automatically to fit the screen.

But the G600 doesn't do that. Suppose there's a 5mpx pic I clicked. If I set it as wallpaper. It won't resize the complete picture to fit the screen. Instead it will choose the centre of the image and only use it as wallpaper. the rest would be lost. Let's say around 40% of the image is not displayed when used as a wallpaper. And that I find quite irritating.

Frankly, this is the first phone I hav seen that doesn't fit the wallpaper to its screen size. It just uses the centre point of the image as wallpaper.

Let me illustrate:

This is a pic i clicked with the phone. Normally the phone should automatically fit the wallpaper to screen and display the complete picture like this:

However, when I set it as wallpaper. The phone will display it on wallpaper as something like this:

Any ideas to resolve this??
