In my opinion a phone is a phone. I like to trade out every 2 years. i drop mine enough that by that point they're starting to fall apart

just don't get talked into something by a salesman that you don't want or need just 'cause it's the hot thing right now... if you won't use it, why pay for it?

I keep my phone for quite a while - with the theory that the older it is, the less attractive it will be to any potential thiefs!

It is nice to have the most hi-tech and most updated cellphones on hand. People tend to look up on you, regard you as 'respectable' as they think that you have much money that you can afford to pay for that new one, ah! Unconsciously, we feel embarrassed when we are using a 'very outdated phone' (in the real sense of the word - outdated), don't deny that because it is true! Well, for me, as long as the phone I am using is still being used by some of the people living in our country (which means to say that I belong to the common 'mass'), it means that it is just right for me to have it, especially if I know somebody who is richer than I am and he/she is using a more outdated phone than I am, sometimes I feel ashamed of myself. So why do I buy a newer phone? Because I want to learn more, especially if this new phone has many features than the old phone that I have .. well, everything depends on the budget of course, if affordable, okey but it is also good to wait for these nice phones to be outdated too coz they become cheap. Also, the most important thing is that your phone still serves its purpose.

If I was you, I wouldn't keep a phone for more than 8 months at tops. I mean, new phones, with better technologies are coming out every other month or so, so 8 months is a good time to get all the use possible out of your phone.

I usually get myself a new phone in the course of about half a year. It suites me quite well, and I have never had any problems doing this. I always have a new phone that will basically be reliable.

hmm... I guess 1-2yrs will be fine. You will get bored after 2 yrs as the newest models will make you jealous. Mostly when your friends gets a better one than yours and makes you jealous. Well, i change cells every year to make use of all technologies! Rest depends on you
