Scratches On Samsung Pixon Screen

Hi there.

I have a about four scratches on my Samsung pixon screen and im wondering how i would get these removed.

They are not hairline scracthes (they are highly visible) and im contemplating whether or not a new screen is required.

Do i need a new screen or does the front fascia come with the plastic screen attached with the main screen underneath?

Sorry if im being vague!

Michael

Hi,

Look at the sticky on the forum in reference to unlocking handsets.

Hi,

You obviously need to be careful when a touchscreen handset is scratched.

With normal screen handsets a cream can be used to repair scratched screens.

My advice is to submit the handset to an engineer for it to be repaired under warranty. Trying yourself could lead to more issues caused by trying to open a closed, sealed unit.

If its new then you could argue the screen should not scratch up so quickly.

If its not you may get the 'its general wear and tear' response.

Its still worth asking and finding out the cost of replacing the screen so you can make an informed decision on if its worth the expense to replace or leave it. Or perhaps sell / trade it in for a new model.

In hindsight maybe a cover or case should be used in the future.
I use the leather case that came with my Nokia 8800 arte, and thus have not suffered such scratches.

Thanks alot for your help Lee!

I'd imagine the warranty "approach" wont work. The scracthes are highly visible and it looks like something has been rubbing against it (think it may have been my car key...woops!!!)

Im gonna have a look at replacement screen costs...the phone hasnt got a single mark on it and it frustrates me that the screen has a scratch so I would want it to look new again.

Im just wondering if the screen needs replaced...or maybe the front fascia has the plastic "see through" part which covers the screen (dont know how it works on these phones). Id imagine it would be the screen though.

Wink

I would assume the outer cover would be at less cost than the internal screen.

Probably pay more for labour than the cost of the actual screen, although its best for this to be done by an expert who wont invalidate the remaining warranty.

Good luck.

Learning curve...lol... get a case or keep it in a pocket without keys and such items !
You can also purchase screen skins to cover the main screen for £5 upwards, just google for them.

Take care.
