free phone just pay for £30 airtime warning

Having lost my payg phone recently, i bought another from a retailer that was offering a free phone, as long as you paid for £30 airtime. When it arrived, i immediately phoned my network provider to register it. I was asked if i wanted to keep my old number, which i did. When i checked my balance, there was no £30 airtime that i had paid for. After many phone calls to both my network provider and retailer, it transpired that the £30 airtime can take up to 48 hours to appear on phone. Because i was not using the number that came with the phone, i was told by retailer that there was nothing they could do, and that i would have to lose the £30. Hopefully, common sense has prevailed,as they would provide me with voucher.(only after threatening to stop credit card payment).Be careful to ensure airtime is on phone before any alterations to sim card.

I assume your on payg.

Another option is when the fone arrives telephone orange , and have the £30 credit moved from the new number to your original one.

Dont let them tell you this is not possible as it is.

Take care.
