LG Renoir firmware update went a bit wrong... :(

A Few months ago I bought an LG renoir from orange

As almost every orange phone i have ever had, it came with their branded firmware, which means that the music player was called orange music, and the web browser called orange world etc.

This annoyed me

I found out that by downloading the Lgmobile update off of their website i could install the open v10j firmware with out the branding,

so i plugged in my phone with the usb cable and started the update

it was going fine up until about 75% when it said that the usb connection between the phone and the computer had stopped even though it was still placed as firmly in the phone and computer as it was at first

I followed the on-screen instructions to get the connection going again and pressed 'retry' but it wouldn't recognise the usb connection

Now when i turn the phone on just says 'please wait'

I tried the lgmobile update's emergency and recovery mode - which requires you to enter your phones IMEI number and S/N number

But i entered the IMEI and the S/N number and it just said 'please check phone information again'

So now i have no idea how to get my phone going again

It really annoys me when the networks purchase fones and brand them with their aweful software.

It seems the software update has clashed with the software already on it.

I would suggest you visit your local carfone warehouse with a repair centre in it and ask them to update the software which will be done free of charge under the warranty. They will do this even if you did not purchase the handset from them, you will just need to show them your receipt.
A Warm Welcome to the forum.
