Help with Sony Ericsson G900

Hello everybody,

I'm new here, I found this forum while i was googling some of my problems. I was hoping somebody here could help me out.

I have a Sony Ericsson g900. I have had 3 previous sony ericssons and they are excellent and very sturdy. Ive seen my g900 take some hard hits, and be perfectly okay.

Well today, I was taking it out of my pocket, and it fell. It hit tile floor, but it wasnt too strong of a hit. Id say that the phone has taken a hit twice as strong before. Well nothing broke, but the phone wont turn on.

I called Sony, and the guy told me that either the battery was dead, or something is wrong with the phone, even though the chance of being damaged from the very light hit that it took is far too small; im in disbelief.

Whenever I plug it into the charger, theres supposed to be a LED indicator that lights up green, but its not lighting up at all. If i take out the battery, and only plug it in, the LED flashes RED. I had an alternative battery thats compatible with my phone, from a previous sony ericsson model. I switched out the batteries, and when I plugged it into the charger WITH the battery, this time the LED lit up to solid RED instead of blinking. I dont know If that has any significance. It still wont turn on.

If anybody has even something that is seemingly insignificant, please do share. Honestly, I can live without the phone... But getting my contacts and media files is imperative, and they are on the internal memory. I tried to connect it to the computer by USB, and that didnt work out.

It seems like the phone is dead, even thought nothing physically broke. Like I said, it was a very light drop.

Thank you for you time,

Sometimes its down to where the impact was. One hit is not like another.
You will have disturbed the connections and will need opening up by an engineer to carry out the repair.
