Nokia 6500s updating problem

Hi forum i have been trying to update my phone to the latest software today as it was still on 6.xx and the latest software is 9.60. I did the whole procedure as i should then when it was nearly complete i got an error saying that the updater had lost its connection with my phone and i had to follow some steps i did these and it tried to restart updating the the same happened. Now after about 5 or 6 tries at this i gave up and took it to a local mobile phone shop to get back on for me he charged £10 and it took about 30 mins. Now me being me and not liking things not working i decided to try again as he updated it with 8.xx software which still wasnt the latest and i wanted the latest. Now the same thing has happened again and i cant get the phone back on. Does anyone have any advice on what i can do to remedy the situation. Its driving me nuts.

Get yourself a cracked copy of phoenix and try that. Use "dead usb mode" flashing option. When asked press the power button on the phone.

Thanks i have downloaded the pheonix cracked version which takes a while to install but when i try to start it i get a windows an unexpected error has occured and it needs to close the program any ideas?
