How do I use my pictures as wallpaper on Sony Ericsson

I have just purchased a Sony Ericsson W715 and I think it is a great phone, it is my first Sony Ericsson and I am slowly figuring out how things work. One thing I have not been able to set my own wall paper, every time I select a photo I have taken with the phone, I just get the message "Cannot Use This File". I have tried turning off themes but it made no difference, any help would be greatly appreciated.
