Wifi on sony ericsson w995 automatic?

Hi guys. Im wondering if when connected to wifi on the w995 it would take it as the default for internet and IM? I cant find out wether it is connecting via wifi or the hispeed internet on the phone (therefore costing me a bomb).

So what I wish to know is, when I am connected to wifi in my house, will the phone download files from my WIFI connection?

Thanks.

I notice when opening a web page in the built-in browser it says "Connecting using mobile network", whether it is connected to wi-fi or not. Some w995 users (including me) seem to have problems getting the wi-fi connection to actually do anything so unfortunately that's the only type of connection it's ever shown and I don't know whether it would say something different if it connected over wi-fi.

Just thinking, you might be able to check your bill online, if Orange let you do that.

Update: I got wifi to actually do something by going to Settings > Connectivity > Internet Settings > Allow local conn > Yes. I tested that by choosing an invalid (for me) "Connect Using" setting, and I could get online with wifi and not without. I noticed the "Connecting using mobile network" message was no longer shown when connecting over wi-fi.

Of could it's still possible that the phone switches back to the mobile network when it finds one. I did have a look in my Apple Airport Utility > Advanced > Logs and Statistics and I could see the phone connecting, but I couldn't see actual data usage. Maybe your setup has that information?
