Best Mobile Phone for ~£200-250?? [Advice needed].

I Don't know what the main nationality of the member base is here, however I was wondering what the best phone(s) out there for the stated price range were.

It's been a while since I got a new phone (many years in fact!). It's my 18th soon and my parents were struggling to find a memorable present for me. We can't really settle on anything else. Long story. ... anyway.

What's the best phone out now for around the said price range?
Any good manufacturers to suggest?
Had experience of the phones personally?
Any to be released between now and Mid August to take note of? Or any slightly after?

Feedback welcome, thanks in advance,

- Iced

I'm with O2 atm, I get crap signal when I'm at home but its at its best signal at school and in the town closet to school. When I had Vodafone it worked everywhere with good signal with no problem.
I'm changing back to Vodafone when my contract runs out hence for that reason, also the O2 customer service is crap compared to Vodafone.
As for Samsung Jet, my friend has one and he loves it. Apparantly they're very good phones.

Sony Ericson £200
Nokia5800 £200
Nokiae71 £250

To name a few.

All are good handsets in their own right.

I would suggest you google and do a bit of footwork by visiting the highstreet outlets.

1st thing you should do is to choose a network that has good coverage where you live, work or go to school. After all its no use having a fone that is high spec with no coverage !

Choose a network that offers you the best payg bundle. Many now have bolt on's to improve minutes and texts, along with data bundles for internet use.

Independant outlets such as carfone warehouse offer more choice of handset as they marry up your chosen networks sim with an unlocked handset. They also have working demo models for you to play with before parting with your money.

The network outlets can give good deal too although be aware that their handsets are locked to the network. Obviously the advantage of unlocked fones is that you can put any network sim card in with without the hassle of trying to get it unlocked, which carries a fee to do so as well. This means you can change networks at any time and makes it easier to sell on to another user.

Perhaps you could re post with your eventual choice and why.
What other models did you look at but did not decide to purchase.

Good luck and I hope you are happy with your final choice.
