Smile The Nokia N97

I've recently been looking for a new handset and i've come across the amazing Nokia N97,but my problem is the price of the handset itself so i was wondering does any one know any chinese websites which might be selling this phone for a more reasonable price.

I know i could get the a clone of the Nokia n97 such as the Nokla Nbut i'm really set on getting the Nokia N97 so if any one could suggest any ways or websites for getting this phone for a cheap betterr price i would appricate it .

Also my second question is if i did get a Nokia N97 from china would it work in the Uk?
Thank you in advance
x

Their are scores of websites selling chinese handsets.

Beware that a massive amount of these are just clones made from inferior parts and housings. Even the OS can not be the Nokia platform and the apps on it might not be the original ones.

Yes it would probably work in the Uk but it might wont be able to be hooked up to the Nokia Ovi store for applications, as the fone needs to be hooked up to the Nokia Suite.

I understand that the cost of such a handset is high due to its new release and it being flagged as the new nokia flagship handset, but in my opinion its always best to get the real deal.

You can get it free on some contracts or expect to pay around £500'ish on payg or sim free. Start saving up for it !

The forum rules prohibit the insertion of links to online business's or name dropping of websites. Use your google/search engine to find the websites your looking for.

Maybe certain auction sites may provide an avenue but they also present their issues such as blocked handsets due to fraud etc.

Some highstreet outlets sell traded in handsets which have been tested and come with a full guarantee. If you would like the details of this shop then please let me know and I will p.m you the link.

Perhaps you could let us all know what handset you ended up with and how you purchased it.

Hi Lisa,

Ensure you use Paypal when purchasing and look very carefully at the sellers description of the handset, as sometimes they are worded very carefully, and you could end up with a chinese model.

Read the sellers feedback and dont be worried about e mailing the seller to ask questions such as ;

Is it a uk/eu model not chinese.
Is it unlocked.
Is it new or used.
Is it branded.

To cover all these points would help you if you need to lodge a dispute through paypal and e bay if something does go wrong.

Good luck and I look forward to your update.

N97 targets a different market segment than 5800, it has beefier hardware specs and the price is almost double as well. But it is totally worth the money, it is one of the best phone ever.
