Which phone next

Hi there,

Recently I have just lost my iPhone. I wasn't particularly fond of the thing to be honest, lousy battery life, and mine kept loosing signal everywhere.

When I lost it I also realised that everything that I could access on my phone anyone else now could. I know you could say more fool me that I didn't put a passcode on it, but there we go. Emails, bank details through email, facebook, etc.

Anyway, I want a phone that is a phone. Just that. I have a fixation with Minidiscs anyway, so I'm not bothered about the ipod bit, I have a great DSLR camera too, so I just want something that is a phone.

Ideally it could look sweet as, and the predictive text could be hot.

I really don't know my way around phones, so if someone has any suggestions, then please shoot.

Hi,

Its really down to what handset suits your lifestyle !

Are you going on a contract or payg as this obviously affects what you choose to suit your pocket.

Suggestions:

Nokia N97.
Viewty Smart.
Samsung jet.
Various versions of the Blackberry.
Lg Crystal.
Nokia 5800.

Most fones now have predictive text as standard.

I still have a Sony Minidisc device too although unfortuantly this device did not take off as originally thought and has kinda faded out now.

If you feel that the information held on your lost iphone could mean your bank account details could be compromised , then i would suggest you contact your banks to change your details.

Also by contacting your network they will be able to block the handset by using its IMEI.

I'm on contract, but I've lost the phone so I'll be buying anything off the bat. I am damn well going to get insurance this time mind.

I don't mind having an older handset if the thing looks nice. I am using a Samsung unit at the moment and the predictive text on it sucks, it doesn't remember any of my stored words.

Hah, yeah the Minidiscs didn't really take off, but a lot of people still seem to have them kicking around somewhere. I dunno, I love mine however.

Nokia N97 looks nice, I like the keyboard, as does the Jet. It will be a cold day in hell before I own another LG product mind.

I really don't mind getting something a bit simpler than all of this however.

If you have house insurance it may be worth looking at that !

I agree in connection to the mini disc. I purchased them from the sony Shop and paid alot of money for it, but the quality of the music was second to none at that time.

The n97 is very nice but im waiting at the moment before purchasing so the software bugs can be oroned out.
I now have an ipod touch and still am impressed with it.

Fair enough about Lg = Once bitten twice shy !

Nothing on the house insurance, it's a real pain because I have just applied for a bank account that will cover my phone. Damnit!

Yep, nothing better than a good Minidisc. I'm going to the lengths of importing decks and amps from Japan where they are still pretty common. I know I'm a sad man....

I currently own a SE W995, it's got a nice camera and a music player but is pretty much just a phone, no touch screen or qwerty keyboard and a nice slide design.

If that's too out of the budget, The N82 served me very well for 18 months, not a single problem, amazing battery life, no clam shell or slaide design so less likely to be broken. 5Mp camera and wifi capabilities as well, you could pick one up for about £100 ish

Well, it's really sad to know that you have just lost your phone. According to my experience, you should have to try Samsung Galaxy S3. Currently I have Samsung S2 but I really want to buy the new version because of it's exclusively incredible. So, I suggest you about this phone.

I have read your information. I know all phones but my my next phone has Nokia N97 because i really like it's great features like Symbian OS v9.4, Stereo FM radio with RDS, Li-Ion 1200 mAh standard battery, 5 mega pixel and auto focus camera, QWERTY keyboard, TFT resistive touchscreen display, 128 MB RAM, 8GB internal memory and 16GB micro SD memory ect.

Holy thread resurrection batman.

As it happened I ended up with an HTC Desire, which has just broken. Ironically enough I'm back with an old iPhone. Samsung have some good phones at the moment; I might well consider one in a few months when I am eligible for an upgrade.

HTC Desire C or Wildfire, the predictive text on my HTC is amazing and although it's a higher end phone than the two I've mentioned I think it'll use the same HTC sense software... honestly it wont let you do a word wrong, handy if like me you still hate touchscreens

Phone Product Detail - HTC Desire C White

Currently I’m using a Samsung galaxy y and I hope to buy a Samsung galaxy S3 in next month, because I’m not satisfied with hardware configuration of my current phone.

in recent time android and i-phone OS are very popular, so every one prefer to but this OS supported mobile devices. SO i strongly prefer to buy Samsung Galaxy s3 or i-phone 4s. This both are currently best mobile and largest selling phone.

I agree with you he must go for Samsung GaLAXY s3 as it is what a person looks for in a cell phone and if anyone need a phone at low price range than he must go for nokia lumia 710.It's awesome if looking just for a phone with some good feature an fast internet access.
