Has anybody ever replaced an lcd screen on a sony ericsson w995?

Hi, my screen is scratched but i dont know if this phone has a plastic facia cover and thats whats scratched, or is this model just like the k850i where the lcd screen is what you see and thats what is scratched. Has anybody ever opend one? also i cant find many bits for it on ebay, or anybody who can unlock them. Is this because they are reletively new? Thanks in advance.

You can buy screens and torc screwdrivers from outlets and auction sites but beware of the possible pitfalls of attempting this at home.

Invalidation of the warranty.
Causing dmaage to the motherboard.
Introducing dust into the device.
Damage to the housing.

It may be worth first asking an official engineer what the approx cost would be to replace the damaged parts.

Unlocking codes can be supplied by the network the fone is on. Either the contract must be completed or at least 3 months elapsed on a pay as you go term.

Unlocking can also be carried out by some flea market traders.

Both will have a small fee attached.

the lcd of the phone can be replaced but the quality of it will deteriorate and it will not be as user friendly as it was before
